Carolina Reaper Chilli Chocolate
Well yesterday was our first outing selling chilli chocolate. We went to the Jimboomba markets and set up a small temporary site. So how did we go? It was fun watching the reaction of people as they sampled some of our chilli chocolate. See the stuff you buy at Coles or Woollies is not really chilli chocolate. Honestly I have tried most of the commercially produced chilli chocolate and struggle to detect any heat in them. Ours on the other hand has got chilli in it and not just any random chilli we use the Carolina Reaper so you don’t need to put heaps in to achieve a nice burn.
When you eat a piece of our chilli chocolate you first taste the creamy dark chocolate which is very tasty. Then as you chew you start to think to yourself, “is there any chilli in this?” Give it about 30 to 45 seconds to allow the heat of your mouth warm up the chilli because that’s when the Carolina Reaper in the chocolate wakes up and starts to burn your mouth. The burn is not crazy it is very pleasant but you can absolutely feel it. I know people have different tolerances to chilli but and most people that sampled our chilli chocolate yesterday loved it and purchased a bag to take home and enjoy.
Our next outing will be at the Mount Tamborine markets on the 10th of April. We will make some more for next month’s Jimboomba markets and be there again so if you love your chilli and have a sweet tooth make sure you come and find us at the Jimboomba markets on the 16th of April, or at the Tamborine Markets on the 10th.
If you can’t wait till the next time we show our faces at the markets and crave for some chilli chocolate contact us and we will get some to you.
